Not likely: A volvulus occurs because of redundancy (extra length) of colon. The fact that this excess was excised will likely prevent occurrence. However, you could be having symptoms from adhesions (scar tissue) that can accompany open surgery. Check with your surgeon. ...Read more

Depends: Since the pain is at the left side, it is not like appendicitis which occurs at the lower right side and is a medical emergency. If you were much over 50, I would suspect diverticulitis also requires prompt attention. You need answers.: Please understand that I am a family physician, not an obstetrician. If I understand you, your wife had a serious post-partum hemorrhage after a c-section delivery of twins. I would imagine that blood would be given unless there was a specific reason not to. My questions would pertain to her neurological status, and the possibility of bleeding into her pituitary gland.
