My son's stool analysis shows positive rotavirus and Entamoeba 0 - 1 / HPF. Diarrhea & fever. Does he require any medication or self healing??
Diarrhea: is best treated with a clear liquid diet. There is no specific medication for treatment of Rotavirus. Clear liquids only until diarrhea resolves and then add a BRAT diet: B = bananas R = rice A = applesauce T = toast (dry - no butter) or saltine crackers Jello and chicken soup are clear liquids that provide some protein. If signs of dehydration occur, seek medical attention. ...Read more
If a child presents with end-of-stream (terminal) gross hematuria, what is the standard workup after an xray shows no stones and urine culture normal?
Here's my thought...: How old is the child? Did he have any change in his usual voiding pattern? If everything as reported to be okay, it's most likely, he has non-bacterial self-limiting urethritis so just watch and see. If not going away as expected or recurring, taking a direct look with scope may be helpful, but rarely needed. So, keep in touch with and ask doc timely. ...Read more

My 2.5 yrs old daughter urine report. Color - pale yellow, appeatence - turbid, ph- acidic, specific gravity- 1.015, protein-traces, urine glucose-nil?
Nothing stands out: What you describe, except for the turbid appearance (cloudy), is normal. It sounds quite ok, but there must have been a reason for the doctor ordering the test. What were they looking for? Other things to look for are white blood cells, bacteria and red blood cells in the urine. These results could come from someone who does have a urine infection, as well as from someone who is totally normal. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Is not a sneeze a cloud of tiny moisture (fluid) droplets possibly teeming w/Ebola virus? If not, why can't I spit?
Ebola Virus.: Yes - you are correct. However, a person would need to be actively ill with a fever for that droplet to be infectious. May be nothing: Around 1 person in 100 has a modest amount of blood in the urine over the lifetime. When tumors and stones are ruled out and there's no other medical cause of bleeding, this is best simply noted and ignored. The trace of bacteria are contaminants. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Allergy related: Probably this is "cobblestoning," which is the finding of streaks of lymphoid tissue on the posterior pharynx (back of the throat). It's caused by chronic allergy type symptoms. A doctor should be able to confirm that with a look in the back of the throat. If your allergies are bad, there are various treatments that may help, such as antihistamines or even immunotherapy. Try an allergist if needed ...Read more
My daughter is 8 month , her stool analysis test showed: protozoa : few entamoaba histolytica trophozoites . But she has no diarrhea and no fever?
Still a problem: Amoeba often causes no symptoms at first but this should be treated as it could become more serious & even spread to her liver, lungs etc. Besides treatment with drugs, herbs can be effective. Ground papaya seeds can treat ameoba; a good dose might be 1/4 tsp mixed with something sweet once a week for 3 weeks. If a repeat stool test after this shows it is still there then use pharmaceuticals. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
