Tip of big toe always numb. After walking i have shock like sensations running from my big toe back along my arch.I have custom orthotics. Could be??
Arch weakening: It is most likely due to fallen arches. Your feet feel tired because the muscles are fatigued and unable to hold your arch up. In turn you pronate your feet which applies tension to your tibial nerve causing numbness and pain as the nerve is over stretched. Need to wear arch supports to reduce symptoms. ...Read more

Neurogenic pain.: Sharp, shocky type pain located in and around the toes are almost always due to a nerve being irritated. The cause could be underlying bone or cyst causing irritation to the nerve and the irritation has reached the point that pain is caused for protection. Seeing a specialist is the first step toward relief. ...Read more

Shock feeling on foot, when I touch a vein at top of foot, I feel the shock further down my foot towards big toe. ?
Shocking.: Sounds like a neuralgia type problem. The nerve on the top of the foot has been damaged or irritated and is sending impulses down the nerve route when stimulated. You need to consider just what may have irritated the nerve. Could be something as simple as an ill-fitting shoe. If the condition does not improve, a visit to the doctor may be helpful. Heat/cold and topical patches can be helpful. ...Read more

I'm having an electric shock feeling in my left foot (sole)and in my 3rd and 4th toes. I also have plantar fasciitis in that foot. Worst when driving?
Lateral plantar: The lateral plantar nerve is a branch of the tibial nerve. It can be compressed at several points along its course from the tarsal tunnel down to the base of the metatarsal phalangeal joint and beyond. Sometimes you can localize the problem by pressing on the bottom of the foot along the nerves course. If the problem cannot be localized ask the neurologist to do a nerve conduction study. ...Read more
After running had sharp needle like pain in big toe and sharp needle pain in heel just in those two spots what on earth?!
Needle pain: This sounds like nerve contusion, depending on the location at the heel , and definitely at the toe. Without a physical exam it sounds like over pronation resulting in the big toe pain. Xrays are certainly also needed to rule out bone spurs and fracture . See your podiatrist for that evaluation and x rays. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

If these symptoms are new, they may be local (tarsal tunnel syndrome-look it up) or yet originate from your back. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
