Surgery 3 years ago for pinched nerve wrist & elbow still have pain & numbness of ring finger, pinky & top of hand, are my nerves permanently damaged?
Stabbing pain in the upper part of my right arm. Along with pain in elbow and occasionally numbness in my pinky finger. What could be causing this?
Ulnar neuritis: Sounds like you have irritation of the ulnar nerve. It is very sensitive by the inner posterior aspect of your elbow ….:your funny bone…. If you bumped this area or slept on it wrong it could have caused an irritation. Usually gets better with time, rest, avoiding impact. Get it checked if it does not improve.See 1 more doctor answer
What causes shoulder pain and finger numbness? The pain is really bad and my arm is almost immobile.
Shoulder instability: Due to a variety of causes, previous trauma, muscle weakness or injury. Loose ligaments are some causes. An unstable shoulder can give a feeling of apprehension when in certain positions and make the arm feel " dead". There are other explanations too. See an orthopedic surgeon. It's not normal for a 22 year old to feel this.See 1 more doctor answer
Side sleeper. Woke up with horrible pain in shoulder. Can barely move my arm due topain Numbness in fingers some times. Has been approx 12 hours.
Sleep smechanics...: Sleeping on your side without any cushion between your neck and shoulder can lead to nerve impingement, which caused the numbness you have. Also, the neck muscles that connect to your shoulder are overly stressed when sleeping in that position, leading to trouble using the arm the next day. This will get better with time and a lot of local heat/massage/OTC agents (i.e ICY HOT) to help muscle pain.See 1 more doctor answer

Although left arm implicated in heart conditions, doubtful this issue is playing a role when immobilized. Discuss with your doc.

I've had upper right arm tingling/pulsing sensations which has turned into ring/pinky finger numbness as well as hand numbness on that side.
Ulnar nerve: The finger numbness you describe corresponds to the distribution of the ulnar nerve. The lack of any real specific information in your post does not allow any more helpful response. Your post is just the beginning of a clinical history, not the end. If you're concerned, in your case HealthTap (or Dr Google) is no substitute for a flesh & blood doctor in a brick & mortar office.
