Elbow Carrying Angle Excessive
My elbow carrying angle is around 20.How can I reduce it? I have a medical examination in a month.
Elbow carrying angle: Is the angle made by the arm and forearm where they meet with the elbow. An angle of 20 degrees is more common in women, and typically is a values angle meaning the hand is out from the body with the hands down at the side and the palms facing forward and this is normal for some. If you are referring to an angle where the elbow sticks out, then that is often from an old fracture and correction OK ...Read more
This can be caused: By a loose fragment from an old injury. It gets caught in the joint, & your moving it about causes it to get out of the way. See an orthopedic surgeon & have it evaluated. Sometimes a loose fragment is made up of only cartilage, & will not be seen on x-rays, & a CT scan with some contrast needs to be done. Also an MRI can visualize them. ...Read more

Left Shoulder, elbow, wrist pain/discomfort after carrying heavy bags or walking dog? Hurts starting in shoulder blade. Uncomfortable.
Myofascial: This sounds like you may be experiencing a myofascial trigger point; this irritation of muscle groups can even mimic nerve root type pain. The shoulder girdle area is a common site for these types of regional muscle fiber strains. If your dog takes you for the walk (with lots of tugging) then a few trips to dog training school may help to change unruly tugging. A lighter, fashionista bag? ...Read more

Ouch! Poor woman: I feel for your wife and am glad she seems to have a caring husband. It's not likely that her fall will impact the test results - but it is very good to let the Dr (s) know of this recent event. Everything about our body is valuable data to help make accurate decisions. Knowing this ahead might help them prepare to keep her safe too. Also tell of all medications she uses. Best! ...Read more

I have arm pain in both arms almost every day. I get sharp pains depending on the angle/weight I put on them. The pain shoots from my shoulder to elbow?
How long to wait before seeing doctor for elbow pain? Elbow hurts when arm is extended and when fully bent. Does not hurt when at a 90degree angle. Trying rest, ice, compression. Taking Tylenol for pain. Been hurting for 7 days.
RICE: You should get a physical exam, preferably from an orthopaedic surgeon, to examine your elbow bones ligaments tendons and joint space. I would also elevate the elbow and use NSAIDs such as naproxen instead of Tylenol for their anti inflammatory capability. Don't worry you'll be fine. Stay calm and see ortho ...Read more
