Electrocardiogram (ecg, ekg) is a print-out of the electrical forces detected by electrodes on the chest wall, as electricity travels through the heart with each heart beat. The electrodes are placed in different positions, and each position "sees" the electrical activity of the heart from its own vantage point. Abnormalities in signal detected at chest surface ...Read more
Palpitations: Palpitations have many causes from anxiety through anatomic and physiologic abnormalities. The feeling of bounding usually relates to the volume of blood pumped with each palpitation. There is no simple single answer for the question. If you're bothered by the feeling should consult a dr. To see if the problem can be clarified. ...Read more

I have palpitations for many years. I am 24. All workup like EKG, Echo, TFTs, Blood CP are normal. Mostly they occur when i lie for nap in afternoon?
Monitor : the most effective test to see what these are is a heart monitor while ur having the symptoms. Ekg shows inverted t waves. Normal sinus rythmn. Palpitations feel like skipped beat followed by two hard slow thumps then back to normal. What is it?
PVC.: Sounds like you have a premature ventricular contractions or premature atrial contractions although i think these less likely. I would not be worried about inverted t waves in the absence of any other cardiac symptoms. To be absolutely sure these are what i think they are it would be reasonable to obtain a holter or event monitor and capture a few of these. ...Read more
EKG was normal, get very anxious easily, had heart palpitations for the last couple of days, bloods normal,?
Physically good: It was wise to check for physical issues and now that you know you are of sound body - it's time to work on the mind part. I am 18 and get a lot of palpitations. I got echo and ekg done came back normal. Holter was normal also. Is anything else going on do I have CAD?
I have severe anxiety. If my ekg, stress test, and 2 echocardiograms came back normal, is there a chance at all that my palpitations could be serious?
Holter 24 hour test: The starting point is a 24 hour holter monitor and some blood work (thyroid profile, electrolytes). Often times palpitations are benign and may be seen in the setting of caffeine or other stimulant use or withdrawal from short acting benzodiazepines. I hope this is helpful information. ...Read more

Palpitations: Yes, since all exams and tests were normal, and if no family history of heart problems at a young age, then you can try to eliminate caffeine, increase fluid intake, eat health and slowly increase activity as tolerated. Try yoga as they can help as well. Changing environment for few days might help as well. Good luck. ...Read more

Do all palpitations show up on a ekg? Besides pvcs and pacs are normal palpitations an arrhythmia?
Bumps In The Night: An EKG takes only one minute so you're "lucky" (I guess) to find any. If the doctor is really concerned he'll put you on a constant monitor (that you carry around with you) for from 2 to 14 or so days. He'll also ask you to keep a record of any symptoms you feel during that time. Ordinarily it's not worrisome to have a few PVCs or PACs a day unless you have bad symptoms or they fit certain patterns ...Read more

Many palpitations everyday, ekg. Holter monitors, 30 day event monitor, all normal but they all do show many palpitations but no arrhythmia. Why?
Thanks for asking!: Normally contractions of the heart are initiated by a special collection of cells called the sinus node. However, virtually every cell in the heart has the ability to start a contraction. Some people have cells in the heart that initiate a contraction instead of waiting for the signal to come from the usual place (the sinus node). This creates an extra beat, experienced as a palpitation. ...Read more
Had stress test, echo, ekg's all normal. Cardio doc not concerned, but still have palpitations, lately more frequent. Can they have missed something?
Consider non cardiac: without knowing full details, the differential diagnosis for palpitations includes non- cardiac causes such as hyperthyroidism, dehydration, etc. cardiac causes in addition to ischemia which is what appears to have been ruled out, includes primary arrhythmias, consider 24 hour holter if palpitations more frequent. ...Read more

I have palpitations, frequent urination and tiredness. What could the problem be? My blood test, ECG n EKG all normal..
Maybe urinary tract:
This could have several causes. Not sure about which blood test was done, but would consider a metabolic panel to include calcium and magnesium, a fasting glucose, thyroid stimulating hormone, and urinalysis.
Consider elevated blood sugar, urinary tract infection, thyroid abnormality (especially high thyroid), high calcium to start with.
May need complete eval by an internist. ...Read more

I have severe panic, anxiety and I have palpitations. Single ones and runs. Ekg, stress, and Echo have all come back normal. Could I have a condition?
Panic Attacks: I know its very distressful experiencing such symptoms and and waiting for the results of all the tests and finding out there is nothing I would recommend getting an evaluation with a psychiatrist or at least a therapist to address the anxiety that is leading to these anxiety symptoms there are a lot better ways to address these issues so relax you will be fine but don't ignore it. ...Read more
