Don't forget the diaphragm and lower chest are pretty close by. The abdominal musculature, ribs, and skin can all contribute as well to localizing RUQ pain. GI exam is appropriate. ...Read more

Could stomach ulcers cause chest pain and shoulder pain? I've been having random chest pain and they said I have stomach ulcers

I have severe pain on lower left side of abdoman, have had gastric bypass and gallblader removed 7yrs. ago, can my pain be appendicitis?

Unlikely.: It is difficult to assess abdominal pain with the few details that we have in your short question. However, as a generalization, appendicitis usually occurs in the right lower quadrant or mid abdomen, not usually on the left. Having said that, there are other causes of abdominal pain which need medical attention that do occur on the left side. If it persists, see your doctor. Good luck. ...Read more

Been having upper abdominal pain, had colonoscopy and endoscopy. Reviled a hiatai hernia. Is the hernia causing the upper ab pain?

Been having upper abdominal pain, had colonoscopy and endoscopy. Reviled a hiatai hernia. Is the hernia causing the upper ab pain?

Maybe: Hiatal hernia is very common, but they are not all the same. Large ones can certainly cause pain, along with difficulty swallowing or reflux/heartburn. Patients commonly attribute many nonspecific symptoms to a hiatal hernia, and more often than not the hiatal hernia is not the cause. See a general surgeon with experience in hiatal hernia repair for a consult if its that bad. Best of luck! ...Read more

I've just had a gastroscopy for coeliac. Showed gastritis. Bloated and severe stitch pain in side. Sometimes pain / burning under ribs. Please help!

Gastritis: Celiac disease is not diagnosed by gastroscopy since it involves the small intestines and not the upper GI tract. You problem appears to be from inflammation in the stomach which may be associated with H pylori infection, NSAIDs intake etc. It is best for you to consult your doctor or see a GI specialist to get a more focused diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more

Have extreme pain in upper stomach under rib cage, vomiting and diarrhea, has been 12 hs, still vomiting and pain and diarrhea, what can do to relieve?

Hard to say: With vomiting and diarrhea it's important to stay hydrated. Additionally the source needs to be identified. Viral gastroenteritis or some food poisoning treatment is supportive care. However if there is another cause such as infectious (bacterial or parasitic) or inflammatory then there are other treatment options. I would recommend a visit to ER or urgent care. ...Read more
