Is oil of oregano safe to take with my other meds? Zoloft, (sertraline) avapro, phentermine, phenergen, paracetamol and ibuprofen?
See below: The first question is why are you taking oil of oregano? What is your purpose for using it? Despite the hype, there is no persuasive evidence to demonstrate that oil of oregano does anything useful in or on our bodies. And while it is popular, there is no science to support the use of oil of oregano for any medical condition. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What are the side effects of taking Zoloft (sertraline) and trazodone together at once? 150 mg for Zoloft (sertraline) and 50 mg for trazodone.
Not many: Zoloft (sertraline) and trazodone are often prescribed together. Some people find that zoloft (sertraline) can interfere with sleep and trazodone often provides the necessary sleep relief. Make sure to take trazodone at bedtime, and i would recommend taking zoloft (sertraline) in the morning. Zoloft (sertraline) and trazodone each have side effects, but their combination does not tend to cause other effects separate from those side effects. ...Read more
Decongestant- phenylephrine. Bp med - inderal. Antidepressants- Zoloft and wellbutrin (bupropion). And synthroid. I had asked the ? About decongestant dosage
Decongestant: We need all the pertinent info together in one question since these questions do not appear sequentially. There are several drug interactions among the current meds. Decongestants interact with BP meds like Inderal (propranolol) & lessen their effect, resulting (possibly) in higher blood pressure. Your pcp can determine what dose will least effect BP & still produce the desired decongesting effect. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I take Sertraline HCL 50 MG and Trazodone 150 MG Is it ok to take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) allergy liqui-Gels 25 MG with the other meds?
For what?: All meds have potential adverse effects and the more meds you are on increases this risk. Both sertraline and trazodone are antidepressants, but you are likely taking trazodone for sleep and these 2 are not an uncommon combo. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is also sedating. If you need Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for allergies talk to your doc about tapering down trazodone. Also consider seeing an allergist ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
Can i take Prozac (fluoxetine) and propranolol? I'm on 20mg Prozac (fluoxetine) and have 20mg of propranolol but haven't taken them together.
Monitor: Both are cleared by the liver so taking them together will enhance the effectiveness of each drug. Nothing will happen with Prozac (fluoxetine) but the Propranolol might cause lower blood pressure and lower heart rate. That being said, the current Propranolol dose is low so i don't suspect anything will happen. Just monitor your blood pressure and heart rate initially. If all is good, then you are ok. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Took 300 mg/day of theanine for anxiety, but now on Lexapro 10 mg, but the theanine helped quickly, like xanax (alprazolam). Can I take both lexapro and theanine?
Theanine is suppleme: Theanine is supplement so there usually is not reliable research available. Lexipro is an SSRI antidepressant There shouldn't be any problem with a trial of both of these meds in the dosage you mentioned . If you had any apparent side effects I would discuss them with your psychiatrist ...Read more

I took allegra, zyrtec, and benadryl today. none of them seem to be working. are there any interactions?
I take Zyrtec nightly for my allergies. I took a Benadryl tonight cause I was having worse symptoms today. Am I okay to take a Zyrtec tonight?
Took Zyrtec 6 hours go. I'm now dealing with nausea. Can I take some benadryl to help with the nausea? Just asking since I've taken the Zyrtec.
Good that you asked: as you want to exercise caution with multiple medications, Zyrtec and Benadryl are both antihistamines with similar actions, combined together, you might get more of the side effects, you want to stay with only one of them. You can start with the lowest dose of Benadryl though and increase as needed, read the labels, if no improvement, see / call your doctor, avoid driving for now, wish you well ...Read more
I am on Singulair 10 MG daily and Zyrtec. I have forgotten both for the past two days and just took a Singulair. Is it ok to take Benadryl as well?
I was prescribed gabapentin 300mg 3x a day and 37.5 Effexor (venlafaxine) in the morning. Can I take Nyquil and/or Benadryl at night?
Med combo: You need to be careful about being overly sedated ( drowsy, unable to drive or operate heavy machinery etc)... Especially with a neurontin / Benadryl (diphenhydramine) combo... Make sure your prescribing doc is informed about your addition of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) / NyQuil BEFORE you implement this change ! ...Read more

Im having an allergy attack. I'm already prescribed Zyrtec and Singulair and still can't stop sneezing. Can I take Benadryl with these 2 meds and go to bed ?
Allergy meds: Yes - there should be no reaction with the singulair and maybe a slight reaction (increased somnolence)the the zyrtec but since you are heading to bed that isn't an issue. You might want to double the dose of Zyrtec going forward as the 20 mg dose was actually better when the drug was being developed. ...Read more
I took 1 tablet of Zyrtec 10mg and flonase today at 10am. It didnt really help, my nose is still clogged. Can I take Benadryl before bed so that it helps me sleep?
Yes you can, but: you need to revise how are you taking those medicines. You need to flush your nose with saline and clear the nasal passages before using the Flonase, which has to used right, (directed backwards and outwards when inside your nose towards your ear). You can double the dose of Flonase or take it twice a day for a day or two, if all this doesn't help, better see your doctor / ENT for re-evaluatio ...Read more
I currently take flonase, benadryl, sudafed PE,&zyrtec, yet my allergies are not controlled. Avoid food sensitivities/worse after URI. Y nt controlled?
Allergy triggers: You might be a candidate for allergy desensitization shots. Are you able to avoid allergens? Make your bedroom as allergen free as possible. My 4 year old takes zyrtec 1 tsp and singulair 4mg every night. She got a couple mosquito bites yesterday and they are swollen. Can she have a dose of benadryl also tonight? Her left eye has also been watering for several days even with both allergy meds.
Allergy: a one time dose should be OK. Diphenhydramine is short acting while Zyrtec is long acting. So, there will be some overlap, but short lived. Adding Zantac (ranitidine) also helps improve the symptoms faster since the two groups of medications have a synergistic effect. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I suffer by hayfever and allergies spring is coming and I was wondering if it's ok and safe to take Zyrtec-as needed- with venlafaxine an clonazepam ?
Possibly helpful: Effexor is an SNRI used to treat depression, can be added sometimes. Treatment of schizophrenia today is most often using second-generation antipsychotic medications. There are about a dozen of these, and about a half dozen first-generation antipsychotics. The newer drugs have less side effects, but the older ones are cheaper. Consult with your doctor to determine which may be best for you ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Rarely.: In people who have congenital LQTS, benadryl can cause heart arrythmias by making their underlying problem worse. In people with normal QT, very large doses or overdoses of benadryl can prolong the QT and have serious or fatal consequences. Bendaryl is a medicine to avoid if you have LQTS, and only one of many factors to consider if you have the acquired version. Speak to a cardiologist. ...Read more
