4 flat feet&overpronation Over-pronation walking shoes necessary or orthotics. Orthotics not proven 2 work Over-pronation walking shoes proven 2 work?

Orthotics: Custom made would be best option. Store bought orthotics are really for an average type arch which would not give you enough support. I don't think the shoe has much value. ...Read more

Have mild-moderate Overpronation/flat feet & wear orthotics. OK to wear stabilizing athletic sneakers without orthotics?Same support?

Not as supportive: It is okay to wear athletic shoes without orthotics, but you will not get the same level of support for your arch. Custom orthotics conform to your arch and can help limit excessive pronation. The best combination for support is to wear custom orthotics with a stable athletic shoe. This becomes even more important if you participate in high-impact activities like running. ...Read more

Do posture correctors or lumbar braces work for back pain?

Do posture correctors or lumbar braces work for back pain?

Not usually: The correct treatment for your back pain depends on the proper diagnosis as to what is causing your back pain. It can be muscular, a facet joint or alignment issue, SI joint issue, disc problem, arthritis, connective tissue disorder and others. A proper evaluation with appropriate imaging should help identify the cause and direct your provider to a proper course of treatment. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Can wearing a posture corrector increase height?

Can wearing a posture corrector increase height?

Artificially, yes.: If you have a slumped over posture, then correcting your posture, either by training yourself to have better posture or by wearing some assistive device, would make you seem taller because you wouldn't be slumped over anymore. But you wouldn't literally gain height. Personally, I'd rather you retrain your posture than wear something like that all the time. ...Read more

Are back braces effective for correcting bad posture?

Are back braces effective for correcting bad posture?

Not long term: There are a variety of braces that can be worn to "improve" posture problems; from fairly flexible to quite rigid. The problem is that they result in atrophy and stiffness which can ultimately worsen the problem. Strengthening of the core and postural exercises is much better. One should also get an exam and X-ray to make sure there is not an underlying spinal deformity. ...Read more

Use orthotic 4 overpronation+bunion used 2 wear aa width shoe age+bunin med width now.Heel backof heel&ankle still narrow should wear custom made shoe?

Gel heel liner: There are so many shapes and sizes of feet that shoe manufacturers cannot possibly make shoes for every need. What i would recommend you do is find a shoe that fits your toes and then purchase a gel heel liner that goes into the back of the shoe to help snug the shoe around the heel. You can search online for gel heel liners and you will likely find a company that sells them.N. ...Read more

Ongoing problems with met. stress fx and CRPS. Walking uncomfortable, shoes restrictive. Moon boot less annoying to foot (softer) than work shoes- oka?

Man in the Moon...: CRPS can be very frustrating, for both the patient and the doctor, to treat. Physical therapy and ambulation are necessary components in the treatment.
