Hair loss, otherwise known as alopecia, can be caused by different reasons, including damage to the hair shaft or follicles or fungal infections. There are two main types of alopecia. Alopecia areata occurs when the body's immune system attacks hair follicles and causes hair to fall out. Androgenetic (or androgenic) alopecia, on the other hand, is an inherited form of hair loss. Hair loss: With Humira, not a known side effect of the drug, mind you, you are on imuran (azathioprine) as well, both drugs increase risk of infection, keep a close follow up with your doctors. I wouldn't worry: Too much. Finasteride is well tolerated with side effects of erectile issues and decreased libido. These tend to be reversible with stopping the medication; though there are rare reports of more prolonged sexual issues even after stopping the meds.
