How are our eyes affected by staring at computer screens, ipad screens, phone screens and televisions?
Eye test report spherical +.75 cylindrical -.5 axis 180 axis. Symptoms headache work on computer daily basis for 4 hours?
2 m/o whole body tension,head slumps rt,screams,then dazed (averted gaze, no visual tracking/grasping-lasts 15-60mins) then deep sleep [email protected]?
Will "close work" (e.g., computer at work, reading, etc) be impactful to peripheral lattice retinal degeneration? Or only for myopia progression?
Not likely: There are some animal studies that suggest that intense near work in children could enhance myopia. I don't believe that mechanism is still at play by age 41. There should be no impact on lattice degeneration from computer work or reading. Lattice degeneration per se does not progress. What changes in the eye is the state of the vitreous gel and its relationship to the lattice. ...Read more

Not really: Your eyes will hurt if there is potentially any problem. If you are feeling discomfort or outright pain doing any activity after dilation, listen to your body and temporarily stop that activity. If feels ok and no discomfort, it's fine. ...Read more
Yes: If you are constantly looking at a fixed near distance - like a computer your eye muscles may undergo spasm and you may develop induced nearsightedness. Don't overuse: Excessive staring at a computer screen will result in severe fatigue and blurring of vision. Shorten exposure times, use melanin filtered reading lenses, avoid over-bright screens should help. Keeping eyes rested and moisturized is helpful in reducing symptoms of severe eyestrain. ...Read more
Can watching TV, looking at LCD monitors or mobile LCD cause eye floaters? What about the very bright lights? Anything to help improving eye floaters?

The latest studies show that kids with adhd who develop tics on the stimulants methylphenidate (concerta) ; amphetamines usually have an underlying tic disorder, so the meds unmask tics rather than induce them. Age related: You may be starting to enter the focusing of middle age termed presbyopia in which things intermediate and near start to become less clear. It is possible the contacts you are wearing are overcorrected which will accelerate this issue.
