Doctor said I have a patch nummular eczema. Its not itchy but its slight raised and tender to the touch. Worried of misdiagnosis. Had it for 3 weeks.

One thought: If you are taking any medication, especially a new one, this may be a fixed eruption due to the medication. That's the serious concern here. If it hangs on for another week, ask about a biospy. Were you given a trial of a mild topical glucocorticoid? Also note you have acne. This needs to be managed especially now that you're an adult. Topical benzoyl peroxide and/or retinoic acid are your friends ...Read more

Hi, i've been taking cetrizine, loratadine and fexafenadine daily for a ? Allergic eczema, but still itchy, sore / red/ swollen eyes and mouth. Help

See allergist: It is time for you to consult an allergist since antihistamines alone are unlikely to solve your problem. Eczema requires regular use of moisturizer especially after bathing (due to a defect which leads to excessive loss of water from the skin) and patients with eczema often have staph on their skin making the eczema worse. It is time to see an allergist. Hydrocortisone cream may help the rash. ...Read more

Can eczema take form of itchy bumps and blisters instead of just dry red patches? Should I be concerned if anything life threatening?

Not life threatening: Just "quality of life" threatening. Yes eczema can take the form of blisters and itchy blister depending on which kind. Atopic dermatitis doesn't usually do this but a contact dermatitis such as poison ivy/oak will. You could also have a infection on top of your dry skin eczema and the blisters could even be herpes but this usually becomes painful. ...Read more

I have atopic eczema and it is very itchy. Is that normal?

Yes: Eczema is a chronic inflammatory skin condition. Seems to be due to genetic defects in the proteins and lipids supporting the skin layer/barrier called the epidermis. Disruption of this barrier results in inflammation of the skin. Eczema can be mild, moderate or severe and is associated with itching. See an allergist or dermatologist for further workup and evaluation. ...Read more

Best diet for eczema to decrease flare ups itchiness and dryness of skin thanks in advance.. what cause neck itchiness?

Tough question: Specific foods can trigger eczema (milk, wheat, eggs, nuts for example), but traditional tests for food allergy may not catch the association. If concerned, see an Allergist. Usually the association depends on single-food elimination trials to determine effects. Neck itchiness can be due to eczema or just dryness of skin. Use good moisturizer (eg CeraVe) post luke-warm bathing and later in day. ...Read more
