When is it safe to stop worrying about an ectopic pregnancy?  I have had no symptoms, but am only 4 weeks, 1 day pregnant and looking for reassurance.

When the US is done: If you have risk factors (prior ectopic, prior surgeries, endometriosis, pelvic infections, etc) an ultrasound is the best way to confirm an intrauterine pregnancy. Been having pregnancy like symptoms. Took femara about 3 weeks ago, had blood test for progesterone day 21 level, came back .4 and had ultrasound done which said I ovulated. Could I be pregnant, be having ectopic pregnancy, or miscarrying?

See your physician: Have a bhcg quantatative done, not bhcg qualatative. It would be good to see what your bhcg number is to determine if you are pregnant. Most home preganancy tests are qualatative which tells you if you are pregnant or not. A quantatative test will provide a "number" to indicate "how much" of a product is produced. ...Read more

Go to an E.R.: Cramping and large clots could just be menorrhagia, but anytime you have concern of an ectopic pregnancy or acute abdominal tenderness with known pregnancy, this can be life threatening. Tubal ligation can fail and ectopic pregnancies are always an emergency, especially with active hemorrhage. Seek emergent evaluation for concerns like this. ...Read more
