Yes, but...: MKennedy, there are many, many, many, many different brand names for a handful of medications. Aspirin is no different. Simply look no further than the ACTIVE INGREDIENT! Had 12 week scan. while checking blood Dr indicated that she has 5% chance for high BP and suggested Ecotrin. Our 1st child and would like more info.
Confusing: Your post is confusing. Women sometimes get high BP in pregnancy but it is usually controllable with meds. Why s/he would suggest an aspirin product is unknown. I had a heart attack 6 years ago and currently I take lisinopril, clopidogrel, ecotrin (aspirin) and metoprolol and atorvastatin at night.can I take melatonin?
Yes, but . . .: While there's some debate regarding prolonged combined use of aspirin & clopidogrel, your combination of meds is pretty much standard of care despite mention of interactions at http://www.drugs.com/interactions-check.php?drug_list=243-0,276-0,705-0,1476-0,1548-0,1615-0, tho luckily none w/melatonin. Cardiology I have been having chest pain on exertion for a couple of years. After a stress test and a cardiac catheterization, the blockage is too small and behind the heart and hard to reach to place a stent. I am on plavix, zocor, (simvastatin) ecotrin,
Your : Your exertional chest pain (angina) is a result of poor blood flow to the region of your heart supplied by this small artery. Based on your description, this sounds like a lower-risk lesion for serious complications like major heart attack or sudden cardiac death; and so would not warrant surgical bypass or higher-risk stenting. The good news for you is that a recent large clinical trial (courage study) has taught us that this type of blockage is treated very effectively with aggressive medical therapy. You are already on good drugs, but you may benefit from increased doses and/or the addition of newer anti-anginal therapy like Ranolazine (ranexa). If you have not already been referred to cardiac exercise rehab, this may also help relieve your angina. ...Read more

Woke up with severe pain in the center of my chest, thought it's a trapped wind, medication for that helped, however the pain remains, pain becomes severe when sleeping and bending forward,I take aspirin for pain. Can a trapped wind cause Pleurisy?
Pericarditis: These symptoms seem suggestive of pericarditis- which is when the lining of the heart becomes inflammed. Moving forward and experiencing a change in the pain symptoms is a characteristic, because the heart moves in the 'bag' surrounding it. It is very painful and sharp in quality like you mentioned. Pleurisy is inflammation of the lining of the lungs - so it's similar. I recc to see a doctor there ...Read more
