Or also pressure hydrocephalus, diabetic, obese age 65 life expectancy. Normal pressure?

What kind: I am unfamiliar with also pressure hydrocephalus- did you spell the type correctly? For most causes of hydrocephalus, the type determines the treatment and forecast. Is pre diabetes reversable?

Is pre diabetes reversable?

Potentially: Hi. Progression of prediabetes to diabetes has been shown to be reduced with lifestyle (diet, exercise, and weight loss), with metformin, and with acarbose. Those studies looked at progression to diabetes, not reversal to normal. If you don't consider it cheating to use a drug, I have "reversed" prediabetes to normal using GLP-1 receptor agonists, so they're normal, but they're taking a drug. ...Read more

I have pre hypertension, overweight, high cholesterol at 27. What is the liklihood of cardiac problems..

Not now: But if you want to avoid problems in the future, you better start serious lifestyle changes, particularly when it comes to diet and exercise. You will not be able to be in better shape or to loose weight until you take this seriously and start a consistent exercise program. THIS IS THE TIME TO START!!!!(assuming your doctor has cleared you to do it) You can do it (and need to) ...Read more

Is gestational diabetes hereditary?

Dr. James Chu Dr. Chu
2 doctors agreed:
Is gestational diabetes hereditary?

Yes, but partially: Gestational diabetes, which is often a precursor to type 2 diabetes, has a strong hereditary genetic component. The tendency for the body to be insulin-resistant and insulin-deficient (leading to high sugars) are often transmitted in the genetic make-up. However, gestational diabetes is also strongly related to other non-hereditary factors like age, weight, physical activity levels, and diet habits. ...Read more

400 lbs, 5'9". Perfect blood pressure & blood sugar. High insulin and testosterone levels. Abnormal weight gain since childhood. Strict diet. Why????

Other Labs?: I hope your thyroid has been checked and is normal. Although typically those with low thyroid causing weight gain are short and you are rather tall! It is probably a simple matter of more calories taken in than you are burning off which is putting you in a positive calorie balance resulting in weight gain. Drink only water, eat 8 fruits and veggies daily and ramp exercise to 10,000 steps daily ...Read more

1trimester pregnant, did CBC found this ( chol 8,3.LDL 5,3.AHDL 2,13) am less than perfect weight, amI in danger?could this cause diabete hypertension?

Lost in translation: A CBC is a lab test of your red & white blood cell count. It checks for anemia, infection and blood cancers. It doesn't check cholesterol. In any case, being underweight or overweight can affect you & your pregnancy. ...Read more
