Stress (Definition)

Stress affects most people in some way. Acute (sudden, short-term) stress leads to rapid changes throughout the body. Almost all body systems (the heart and blood vessels, immune system, lungs, digestive system, sensory organs, and brain) gear up to meet perceived danger. These stress responses could prove beneficial in a critical, life-or-death situation. Chronic (long-term) stress can have real health consequences and should be addressed like any other health concern. Fortunately, research is showing that lifestyle changes and stress-reduction techniques can help people learn ...Read more

How does eating healthy foods help someone who already has type two diabetes if it can't be cured?

It matters a lot: If you eat the right foods, you can go off most if not all diabetic meds. It is not a question of carbs but what type of carbs - you want low glycemic index foods (lists available all over the web). You should also cut out all meat from your diet, not eat processed foods except rarely, never drink soda (even diet) or eat fast food, and eat lots of fresh fruits/veggies, whole grains, nuts, & beans. ...Read more

I am 17 years old! I'm doing body transformation! . I'm eating healthy foods and supplements! .My height is 5.8 my dad's height is 5.10 and mothers is 5.3?

Your question is???: Your projected genetic height given your parents height is 5'9". (m+d/2+2.5 in) if your growth centers remain open you can expect more growth, but not much more. If you entered puberty at the same time as your friends you are likely done as most growth centers close at 17 in males. Need evaluation: It is not feasible to settle the issue without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. However, you have identified a major problem, weight. Blood sugar drops below 3.0-4.0 mmol/l every time after eating healthy foods. Only way to keep it at 6 is eat at least 150-200g of carbs. Non-diabetic?

Why keep it at 6?: I have no idea why you want to keep it at 6. A level of 4 (or 72 mg/dl) is perfectly healthy and should not cause any symptoms. Some people will get symptoms below 3.3. It is a bit unusual but not dangerous to have levels that low. No problem eating that much carbs but still avoid sugars and starches; choose complex carbs. Consider seeing an endocrinologist and checking your Insulin levels. ...Read more

I've been working out and eating healthy, using neutragena naturals & nothings working for my acne. Could it be my stress working against it?

Not lifestyle: Contrary to what anybody else has told you, lifestyle (diet, fitness, personal hygiene, "stress") is not a major factor in acne. Being a young adult with acne is hard enough without being fed disinformation. It's not a bad soap, but not cure. If benzoyl peroside has failed, get with your physician for something that works (the pill, topical clindamycin, other options right for you). ...Read more

I 23 year old male, healthy diet and get a cold every month. I am concerned I get too many infections. What you think? I do have chronic stress

Stress weakens you: Your main problem is stress-- these germs are having a field day at your expense. When under stress the body is weaker, as you've proved to yourself here over and over again. I highly recommend u do everything to change this. Quit your job, meditate, pray, exercise, get sunlight... Do something! Not to scare u, but bigger problems can arise later if u go on living like this... ...Read more

Cardiac response: This clearly concerns me but you are doing the right thing and dealing with the problem urgently. Catheterization is definitely recommended.
