I eat a low sodium diet- I keep it well under 1000 mg a day yet my sodium tests come out 139-145. Is this indicative of a problem? Not dehydrated.

Is it unhealthy to eat a very low sodium diet? I am a keeping track of my sodium intake, and it is less than 500mg daily.
That is not easy..: Your body actually needs to have adequate amount of sodium to function normally and so too low can cause significant problems such as seizure, weakness, paralysis etc...500mg/day is actually a very difficult if not impossible task to achieve...As most food u eat contains some sodium..Just not known to you. As long as you have free access to water, you shouldn't run into any serious problems, but even with specific treatment, modestly restricting your salt and protein intake can lessen the thirst sensation and subsequently the volume of urine you will make. Yes, however...: I strongly advise you take Vitamin C, ideally 1000 mg 2-3x/day, but you should try to find forms without sodium. I don't know what's available in Denmark, but in the US you can find ascorbic acid, or calcium or magnesium ascorbate without sodium. Lypo-spheric Vit.
