I got choked on my saliva as I was preparing to eat candy. And like it really choked me up good because like that was like a few hours ago and I still have a cough and my chest still hurts. Should I just take a cough drop and sleep it off?

Tiny clear blisters on the inside of both cheeks in the area where I'd hold a cough drop. Been using Halls menthol cough drops. Could this be why?

Your cough reflex is suppressed during sleep so if the cough drop goes "down the wrong way", you could actually block your airway and essentially choke in your sleep.
