No. TMD symptom?: Assuming that your ears have been examined & are clear. Also assuming cold or allergy flare ups ruled out. Plugged ears are common symptoms of temporo mandibular dysfunction (tmd). Trigeminal nerve controls the jaw muscles as well as the tiny muscle that opens eustachian tube. Hence the symptoms. See an ENT doctor: Ear pain and fullness can be due to tmd (temporo-mandibular disorder). Retraction of drum may indicate eustachian tube obstruction, but that requires a specialist's observation. Crackling on swallowing is normal. The presence of normal hearing strongly indicates no pathology in the external or middle ear. ...Read more

Possible TMJ: An ear infection usually follows a cold and has hearing loss, sometimes fever and drainage. It can affect one or both ears. The exam is abnormal. ENT said not labyrinthitis, hearing test monday, muffled hearing in my left ear, super scared it's acoustic neuroma. All symptoms except numbness.
Asymmetric hearing: Asymmetric hearing may be due to multiple etiologies: infectious, Meniere's, membrane rupture, autoimmune, medication, tumor. An audiogram followed by an ABR (auditory brainstem response) with asymmetry is reasonable. An MRI may be warranted pending evaluation also.
