Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. What is the cause of swollen feet in 39 weeks pregnancy?

What is the cause of swollen feet in 39 weeks pregnancy?

Like any mass...: The baby is a mass growing in your pelvic region, and it causes pressure on some of the blood vessels obstructing the blood flow from your legs back to your heart, thus causing your legs accumulate fluid. Although it largely improves after the pregnancy is over, it may lead to the formation of the varicose veins and some leg swelling to remain in the future. Read more

I am 39 weeks pregnant and I have horrible heartburn to were I can feel it in my ears and it burns my throat what can I do for it if I have no meds?

Good question: About 2/3 pregnant women have heartburn. The main cause is hormones (mainly progesterone). Avoid large, spicy, and fatty meals. Avoid lying down and bending over especially after eating. You can try over the counter antacids such as Tums (calcium carbonate) or Nexium/Prilosec if these other recommendation don't help. Congratulations on your pregnancy, the baby is almost here! (the heartburn should resolve soon!) Read more

Check blood pressure: If you haven't seen your doctor today, it is important to get your blood pressure checked right away. Headaches can be caused by many factors, but headache can sometimes be the first sign of pre-eclampsia (toxemia). I am currently 25 weeks pregnant and last night I started experiencing pressure in my right ear and tinnitus. Should I be worried at sudden onset?

I am currently 25 weeks pregnant and last night I started experiencing pressure in my right ear and tinnitus. Should I be worried at sudden onset?

No: The sudden onset makes it more likely that you have a pressure build up in that ear, either from fluid or eustachian tube dysfunction, which can be caused by allergies or an infection. Ringing in one ear is not typical for high blood pressure, which would be a concern for your pregnancy. See an MD for an exam of your ears. Read more

Pulsatile tinnitus started in my right ear, when I was pregnant. Dint go after delivery, MRI was normal. If I press in neck it stops. Guide me further pl?

Interesting: Yes, as a major biological event, you might have had some subtle vascular change with your pregnancy that results in your pulsatile tinnitus. Normal MRI not surprising - cause might be very small blood vessel - not visible on MRI.

Pressing your neck is problematic. While it is good to know you can stop it, and you should tell the doctor how, suggest don't do this - producing vascular change. Read more
