For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. However there may be folliculitis resulting from inspection of the hair follicles by normal flora/bacteria on the skin, which can be secondary infection resulting from staphylococcus species. See your Family Doc: It sounds to me like you have several issues going on at same time. Post-nasal drip could be from allergies which could lead to ear discomfort b/c Eustachian tube dysfunction. Anything is possible: But it sounds more like a nasopharyngitis something inflaming the nose and throat which tends more to be viral in etiology. In fact most sore throats are viral in cause too. Sinusitis: Try flonase 2 sprays in each nostril for a week, hot shower to the face, hot rag to the face, soothing beverages, ibuprofen 800 q 8 hours for symptomatic relief. Not LPR: LPR, also known as laryngopharyngeal reflux is due to stomach acid that travels from the stomach up through the esophagus and then causes irritation to laryngopharyngeal region. Since you had flu: and strep tests, I'm assuming you had your whole body examined. Did they mention if you had fluid behind your eardrum? It sounds like you could have a middle or inner ear infection. I would follow up with your doctor and be examined again. Nonspecific : Soft tissue densities in the normally air filled mastoid, middle ear and sinus cavities indicates there is some type of chronic, long term inflammation in those areas. It could indicate chronic infection, as well. It depends on your clinical condition and how severe those findings are to really give you an idea of what this means to you.
