Shingles : Shingles cannot be passed from one person to another. However, the chicken pox virus that causes shingles is contagious to another person if the other person has not had chicken pox. But, you will not or another person will not get chicken pox from your sister unless you were directly exposed to the lesions. Normal healing rate: The real question is what not to do that slows down healing. Avoid using alcohol, peroxide, hibiclens, betadine, and bleach solutions. Inflammation ( red, hot, swollen, tender) is important to healing so anti-inflammatories (motrin, advil) are bad.
