I am worried I had a light period last month now 34 days later no period iam not pregnant my husband has had a vasectomy could this be ovarian cancer my periods are usually every 21 to 28 days?

Don't panic: First, make sure you're not pregnant. Not all vasectomies are permanent. If not pregnant, I'm not an OB/GYN, but I would think hormonal imbalance or early menopause would be more likely than CA (depending on your overall health or family history), but I would definitely check in with your PCP. Good luck. ...Read more

Need to examine: It is very unlikely that you have ovarian cancer. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. You have obviously consulted a doctor and she/he would be in a better position to advise. If you are even slightly overweight, it would help to lose weight.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
Get HPV vaccine. ...Read more

Would an ultrasound and a transvaginal ultrasound still miss signs of ovarian cancer?

Would an ultrasound and a transvaginal ultrasound still miss signs of ovarian cancer?

Yes: Almost all test and imaging studies have false positive and false negative results. Early ovarian cancer is particularly difficult to detect as the normal ovary often has cystic changes and varies in size during the reproductive period. Having said that, transvaginal ultrasound is a useful and perhaps the best test for detecting ovarian cancer. ...Read more
