Early Signs Of Baldness
Hair loss, otherwise known as alopecia, can be caused by different reasons, including damage to the hair shaft or follicles or fungal infections. There are two main types of alopecia. Alopecia areata occurs when the body's immune system attacks hair follicles and causes hair to fall out. Androgenetic (or androgenic) alopecia, on the other hand, is an inherited form of hair loss. With alopecia areata, hair can fall out in patches all over the body. With androgenetic alopecia, hair on the head first thins and then falls out. In men, this is called male pattern hair loss; in women, it is called ...Read more
Rarely: Young men can develop baldness (alopecia) for many reasons, including breakage, certain skin diseases that cause destruction of the hair follicles, autoimmune disease, iron deficiency, vitamin b deficiency, chemotherapy, shedding after illness, hereditary (genetic) factors, or alopecia areata. If hormonal problems are suspected, other signs might exist including hirsuitism and acne. ...Read more
It seems like a lot of guys who go through puberty really early get premature baldness. Is this related?
Does having a small hairless (not very visible) space at the top back of the head a sign of going bald ? (Age 20)
Ain't necessarily so: If your parents went bald at an early age that is a much stronger indicator. If it's in your genetic inheritance then it is. Anyhow you can get a workup and learn to deal with it. ...Read more
I have a very high hairline. Always have. Does this mean I will bald early or can it stay high into my old ages? I'm 17
High forehead: It's the shape of your skull. It has no bearing on whether you'll lose your hair early. The best predictor is how much chest hair you're naturally blessed with -- the correlation's close, look around. Embrace and be proud of whatever Nature gave you; nothing looks better than a buffed, physically-fit, well-groomed balding guy with nicely-cared-for facial hair. ...Read more
At the early age of 20, I have become bald in mpb pattern. Thedoctor said my excessive ejaculation like 20 times a week for two years caused premature baldness! can it happen?
He said what?: If your physician really told you this, get a different physician. All guys lose the hair on their temples around age 20; if you're really having progression this early, you have a choice. You can try various topical and systemic medications to slow down the progression. Or you can embrace your hereditary & masculinity. A man's looking good is about fitness, not hair. It's your choice! ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

What could be the reason for a bald?
How could I stop this at the early stage and regrow my lost hair?
Usually genetic: I see you are 22 years old. All normally masculinized men lose the hair on their temples at your age. Many men, especially those blessed with abundant chest hair, go on to lose more in the familiar pattern. Your physician can give you medications, or you can embrace your genetic heritage and masculinity and focus on looking good and being healthy overall. Photo Guy isn't complaining. Cheers. ...Read more

Is propecia (finasteride) 5mg more beneficial than propecia (finasteride) 1mg? Which should I take? *note i'm in the early stages of male pattern baldness.
More is not better: In medicine, in so many ways, the assumption that more is better is repeatedly proven false. For alopecia, Finasteride (the generic for propecia) all one needs is 1 mg/day. But, the 5 mg pill is less expensive. So many people get the five and break it up into three or four pieces. ...Read more
