Is it possible to lose small parts of your mucus plug? I have small booger type discharge in my underwear! (gross!)

Yes: I assume u are neat term, it can come out all at once or over a number of weeks, both cases are normal and u will notice more once your OB starts cervical exams usually at 37 wks, ideal time to deliver is 39-40 weeks - best outcome for the baby so do not go past your due date I do not allow any of my pts to go past and none of mine want to, induction is safe and easy at term and my pts want it. I'm 40 weeks and 2 days, lost my mucus plug 3 1/2 hrs ago, I was checked today and dialated to 2 cm, I am now having brown discharge for the last 3?

Consult your ob/gyn: Your question was a little cut off. Needs a consult so we can get more details, for example are you having contractions, how far apart etc, how is the baby moving, are you feverish etc. This will help determine whether you are progressing and whether there are any issues needing consideration. Difficult to do through here. Please contact/ consult ob/gyn urgently to sort out. Read more

Early labor signal?: Old blood appears brownish. Did your OB examine you recently? Did you have intercourse? Is it still there, more profuse, reddish? Are you having contractions, pressure or pain in the pelvis? These are some questions you will be asked by your OB or his associate. Discharge can herald labor. A third trimester baby can have risks if born before term. So most obs would want to evaluate or speak to you. Read more
