Normal: This could be from post nasal drip if you are having some bleeding in your nose. Dry nasal passages can occur with a cold. Try a saline nasal spray to alleviate the dryness before going to bed and in the morning, it should ease the problem. If it continues, see your doctor. ...Read more

At home rememdy:: Dear concerned mom, a cough is usually the last symptom to resolve. This is commonly caused by a post nasal drip. You can rest assured that your daughter is likely still on her way to recovery! if her doctor has not prescribed anything for cough you can try using children's Mucinex (guaifenesin) dm and increasing her fluid intake. Aspiration, reflux: Many things can cause long-term cough and congestion in a one-year old, most relate to inhaling (aspirating) what they eat. What you describe should be discussed with your doctor as they could lead to pneumonia. Be sure your son doesn't get a bottle or cup propped in bed at night.
