Dpo/hcg levels: 14=233; 15=389; 16=683; 19=2821; 21=4643; 22=6533; 24=9596 (86 hrs doub. Time). Can high early hCG = earlier decline in doubling time?
Not really!: The 'doubling time' is not strict, it's a rough guide. Normal pregnancies may only go up by 2/3 in 2 days not 'twice.' furthermore each level is accurate to about +/- 15%, they are not 100%. Your numbers look normal, i wouldn't wear out your calculator doing this kind of thing. ...Read more

Ive had pregnancy symptoms hCG blood test came back at 2. Test was done 3 days before period. Why do i have hcg? Cld it b early hcg?
Report as negative: Not impossible, but I do doubt it. Results less than 5 should really be reported as negative. You can test again in 2 days or wait to see if your period is late. ...Read more

I am pregnant. I went to doctor and they looked through ultra sound couldn't see anything. Said early pregnancy hCG level is 28. Is baby ok?
You tell us: Only you know when you could have gotten pregnant. The answer to this question is only going to be known with dates and more data. What did your physician tell you? Why did you not share that VITAL piece of information in your question? If you are more than six weeks then no baby on ultrasound means the pregnancy is not viable. ...Read more

50% up every 2 days: Most healthy early pregnancies have a HCG level that rises by at least 50% every 2 days - it's often faster than this and it may double or nearly double every 2 days. It depends how far along you are too - no hormone can go up exponentially forever and HCG peaks at around 10 weeks. ...Read more
Today is 8 days past ovulation. My OPK shows very dark +ve.Is it detecting hcg?How can it detect hCG so early even if I am pregnant?
Doesn't check HCG: Ovulation predictors look for the hormone known as lh, which is high just before ovulation. Ovulation predictors do not check for hcg. Pregnancy tests check for hcg, and can be done after missing a period (there is no reason to check sooner, and doing a pregnancy test too early may give a false negative result). ...Read more
Discuss w/ Dr.: How high? What specifics? Discuss these concerns w/ your OBGYN. I've heard that the increased risk is specifically about a small portion of the hCG called the beta subunit. If that is high, they consider it an increased risk for Down Syndrome. It's not so much a concern early in pregnancy - they usually test for this between 15-18 weeks and it's part of the quad-screening test. I hope this helps. ...Read more

Day 12 after 3days embryos transfer.early morning had a neg pregnancy home test.can it detect hcg so early day 12 or i have to wait.am stressed
Patience...: Patience is a virtue that all parents should seek. A urine pregnancy test done correctly should give a reliable result 2-3 weeks after the embryos are in (making it unlikely to be a false negative if it is negative). There should be no need to give it another thought until then. That means do other things; avoid thinking about babies, pregnancies,... What will be will be, and stress will not help. ...Read more
Ok: Most ivf clinics only measure HCG levels approximately 9 days after a day 5 embryo transfer. However, some clinics feel that the combination of HCG levels and Progesterone levels have a more predictive value of a good pregnancy than HCG levels alone. Personally, we only measure hcg. Hope this helps and good luck. ...Read more
Ultrasound at 5w and 2d showed only gestational sac. No yolk sac or baby. Dr said might be too early to see. But hCG level came back next day at 15,209. Which do you go by? Hcg level or weeks?
Can be both: I agree with your doctor in that it may definitely be too early to see the baby, but encouraged there is at least a gestational sac being seen. Your HCG level is a little more elevated than expected but there can be a range of "normal" among women in early pregnancy. We generally take both the HCG level and the ultrasound to base judgements and decisions on.Hopefully by 8 weeks you will hear heart ...Read more
Can I have 7 days blood spotting/ DUB before implantation & still be pregnant? How early can I test hCG by blood? Would I have to stop breast feedin
Yes: It is possible to have bleeding/ spotting and still be pregnant. Serum tests for pregnancy are more sensitive than urine testing and may be "positive" as early as 5 days after fertilization. Quantitative tests measure the actual hormone levels, and in early pregnancy they are expected to double every 2 to 3 days. You do not have to stop breast feeding if you are pregnant. ...Read more
My HCG is 2.39. Can that be a early sign of pegnency. If not what does that mean? Im 32 years old
1st hcg is 17, 49hrs later is 28. Any hope left or is it over? I am 4wks 2 days today. 2nd hcg was yesterday. Is it still early, possibly? Thank you
Viable pregnancy: In a viable prenancy, the hcg usually should double every 2days. In your case, hcg increased from 17 to 28 after 49 hours. At 4w2d, hcg should be expected to be higher and double every 2days. Thus, repeat the quantitative hcg in 2days and if it continues to decline, then that is a sign of failed pregnancy. Please discuss with your doctor. Good luck. ...Read more
