Earache in both ears, pressure in my face, nose is leaking a lot and imy back and chest hurts a bit when I breathe?

Ear infections?: Sounds like you have at least a bad cold, but ear infections can only be determined thru a visit to your doctor or an urgent care center. The chest & back pain are probably also due to the infection, but always a good idea to have chest pain evaluated to play it safe. If you have persistent chest pain even when not breathing or significant trouble breathing, call 911.

Pharyngitis: Sounds like pharyngitis, which can be bacterial but is usually caused by viruses like those that cause the common cold. Since the ears, nose & throat are connected, you can also have an ear infection. Most viruses don't have good treatments Xcpt time (7-14 day). If you were exposed to any known viruses you could get tested but antivirals have to be started in the 1st 2 days to be effective. GL

Possible: This is allergy season and this may be what you have, but cannot possibly diagnose long-distance. Would you want your can fixed over the telephone?

Viral syndrome: It sounds like your symptoms are more than you can handle at home. You've tried taking over-the-counter therapies like Paracetamol? You should call your doc since you have dizziness and could be dehydrated. I recommend chicken soup, fluids, and REST until you can be seen. You need something for the chest too-like an inhaler (albuterol). Limit stress and sleep well to avoid these type of infections

I've been told I have otosclerosis and have too have hearing aids as I have 15% hearing loss in both ears I am in constant pain with earache with it?

Need specialist eval: Your complaints of pain would not be due to otosclerosis. You need an ear nose and throat specialist evaluation to determine the cause of your pain. It could be inflammation, infection, eustachian tube dysfunction, cholesteotoma or a host of other possible causes. Sorry the centers not more helpful. Best of luck Dr. R

Having earache fever and decreased hearing after a cold. Am I too old for an ear infection? Can both ears be involved or only one?

Having earache fever and decreased hearing after a cold. Am I too old for an ear infection? Can both ears be involved or only one?

Any age possible: Although middle ear infections are more common with infants and toddlers, anyone can have one at any age. One or both sides may be involved. Reduced hearing is more a sign of retained fluid than true infection but occurs in both.

Ear ache sometimes in both ears, teeth sometimes hurt, very sharp jaw pain on right side of mouth mostly happens before bed, get it daily what is it?

Pain and dysfunction: If the tmj/tmd issues last for awhile, some symptoms can affect the ear (s) in many ways. You may develop ringing in the ears; earaches, popping-grating-clicking that is heard constantly in the ears; roaring muffled sounds; hearing loss; on and on. It is better to see an ENT first if you have ear symptoms to rule out it being the ears as the source of the problem.

Is it normal to get ear pain and tinnitis when you push hard against the masseter? Can this last for weeks? Can one side cause problems for both ears?

Yes: Pushing the masseter muscle can hurt the ear and also close the canal. It can cause symptoms of TMJ disease, especially if there is any problems in the canal. If the canal is closed you may hear abnormal sounds or sounds that you didn't notice. It is often hard to localize the side these sounds come from. Inner ear problems can cause similar symptoms. See ENT doc.

I am having ear pain in both ears for a few weeks now. I'm using ear drops. The pain goes away for a little while but comes back again. What's up with me?

Ear Pains - Weeks: Ear pains for weeks? Time to get your ears examined. Many causes: ear infections, plugged eustachian tubes, tooth grinding, arthritis in the temporamandibular joints, referred pain from throat sources -- all possibilities. Go see your doctor to see which one.

Ear pain in both ears but no infection. What could be wrong? PCM doesn't seem to have any answers

Ear pain in both ears but no infection. What could be wrong? PCM doesn't seem to have any answers

Eustachian tube: It could be that you are having Eustachian tube dysfunction. This tube drains fluid from the middle ear and when it is blocked it can cause ear pressure and pain. I suggest that you see an ENT physician for evaluation of your ear pain.
