I have begun to have intensifying sharp pain on the left side of my head just above the ear followed by a tingling numbness in the tender area and lef?
Get it checked out: There are a few things that could cause this type of symptom. Arteries can get inflamed, (arteritis) which would cause the pain, you could be wearing glasses or a hat too long which may cause the numbness. I've been feeling tingling off & on, both sides of my face near sideburns & ears. No numbness or anything. I do have anxiety. But I'm on pills.
Could be anxiety: Episodes of anxiety can cause hyperventilation, which can produce tingling sensations. So can a variety of medication side effects. Sleep on right side?: If this happens only when you are lying on your pillow, be sure that your earlobe is not folded . Perhaps you need a softer pillow. If you tend to sleep on the right side, this would likely be the cause for your problem.
