This: This wouldn't be related to the pituitary, which is inside the brain. You may be thinking of the thyroid gland, which is just beneath the adam's apple in the middle of your neck.

See your physician: Some people make increased cerumen which is the wax-like secretion of the glands of the ear canal. This gets inflammed and sometimes infected.
