Long time: 5 days is a long time to be in pain. Need to have ears, nose, and throat checked by your md/do as well as revisiting the dentist. Many possibilities: Tooth pain commonly does radiate and can be perceived as ear pain. It should be understood, however, that there may be other possibilities as well. I never recommended a temporary filling after root canal treatment. The root canal was done to cleanse the inside of your tooth. Temporary fillings have a risk of leaking and compromising the tooth. This may or may not be a dental issue. With numbness occurring, you don't want to wait. Please call a dentist asap who can do an exam, see if it is a dental issue and if not dental refer you to someone who can help you. Good luck and don't wait.
