A few days: It takes a few days, and sometimes an antibiotic doesn't help at all. Most problems like this are due to viruses or allergy. A nasal decongestant (e.g. oxymetazoline spray like Afrin) and/or asthma inhaler may help. See your doctor right away if you are short of breath or have asthmatic wheezing. Otherwise, give if another 3-4 days then contact the doctor if no better. ...Read more
