Needs appt: Anytime a child stops weight bearing especially close to an infection they MUST be seen. It may be an irritation in the joint fluid due to the immune response of infection but it could also be a true infection in the joint - which is an emergency in children. If by doing the valsavar maneuver, while I have blocked ears from cold & midle ear infection, good or bad for me? Will it cause more problems or helps?

Valsalva: Equalizing pressure with the Valsalva is fine, as long as you do it gently and don't force it. Ear infections: Many children get ear infections when they are between 1-3. Typically they begin to outgrow them at this age. Frequent ear infections can affect hearing and speech development. ...Read more
