My 6 mon old bub has thick dark liquid coming out of the same ear for a month now and it smells he's been on anti twice in a month for ear infec -help?
Culture: Your doctor needs to take a sample of that drainage and send it for culture. It could be a resistant bacteria, or other infection like a fungus or yeast, especially since he's been on several courses of antibiotics. If your primary care doc can't help you, see an ENT doc. That kind of smelly drainage is not normal in a 6 month old. ...Read more
If I had a tumor in my inner ear, what would the symptoms be? Would a ear infec. With roaring& some dizziness be it? Would it be constant?
Hearing & Balance: Tumors of the inner ear are not common. The most common tumor of the ear would be an acoustic neuroma which is benign and not cancer. Most present with hearing loss - usually gradual but can be sudden. Tinnitus (abnormal sound in the ear) is possible as well. Normal vein?: If the vessel is soft and easily compressible it's a vein and usually of no significance unless it is tender. How can I boost my 8 month old immune system before the winter comes is there a medication or certain foods ican give he catches throat&ear infec alot?
Immune boosting: No. There is no magical formula to improve immune function. Young children are more susceptible to infection because they have not been exposed to many of the common pathogens present in the community and it takes time for them to build up the prerequisite antibodies to reduce the frequency of future attacks. There are some babies with immune deficiency but this must be detected by pediatriiacian. ...Read more
