Right ear infection 8/25.On antibiotic since.Have slight ear pain and headache.loud ringing/muffled sound. Pain behind eyes. Left ear craclking.
Left ear pain and clogged sensation, pain/drum pops when burping, jaw pain near left ear and congestion. internist saw no ear infection. Ideas? Help!
Probable node: Could be a lymph node or salivary gland tumor pushing the ear forward. If there is fever, tenderness pain and swelling behind the ear, hearing loss, ear drainage i would be concerned about infection in the mastoid bone which needs urgent assessment. Injury or infection: Have you injured it? If so, blood can accumulate under the skin and cause permanent swelling/deformity (cauliflower ear). It needs to be seen right away and sometimes drained. Injury to the helix will not cause hearing loss. If the site of injury develops a lump or ulcerates, it would be prudent to see a doctor, in case it got infected and needs to be treated with antibiotics.
