The helix on my right ear is swollen and won't go down.?

Injury or infection: Have you injured it? If so, blood can accumulate under the skin and cause permanent swelling/deformity (cauliflower ear). It needs to be seen right away and sometimes drained. If not, it may be infected. Do you have ear canal drainage or pain? Ear canal infections can contribute. Did you sleep on it in an uncomfortable way? Lots of questions, I know, but it might be good to see a doctor. ...Read more

Spock Ear: A spock ear (or stahl's ear) has an extra fold going backwards to a point a little like the star trek character. A board certified plastic surgeon may be able to reshape the ear, but it will depend on the specifics of the deformity. For newborns, molding can help in the first few days after birth. After that, only cosmetic surgery can help. ...Read more

Possibly flushing: This could simply be flushing, or blushing, some people seem to do this more in their ears. If it is painful for a while, you could be showing signs of relapsing polychondritis. Cartilage: This sounds like one of the frequent complications of piercing cartilage anywhere in the body. Doing this is a big risk, because cartilage contains no blood vessels, and often reacts to the injury of piercing by growing together erratically.
