Culture: We usually don't culture sinuses, but that would be how you could find out. If you have pus from your ear, your doctor could culture that. It may still be bacterial but the bug was resistant to amoxicillin. Fungal is much rarer, viral will resolve in 2-3 weeks on own. Another common cause of sinusitis is allergy and taking nasal steroid spray may help with that. ...Read more

Ear: How do u know it's fungus? 1) need exam ear.2) more detail. Yes monilia is common invader canal whenever ph or acidity is changed- ie shampoo. Safe method is equall parts alcohol and white vinegar to change acidity. As rx called vosol (acetic acid and propylene glycol). Ethanol alcohol sold in pharmacies behind counter but isopropyl ok. Maybe: Candibec is a combination of antifungal and steroid drops. Otitis externa can be very painful. If is getting worse call your doctor as the pain should be getting better. There are several types of infections that this can be. Are you swimming as this may make it worse.
Hold the med only with the doc permission or go the urgent care center if you cannot get appt.
