Ringing in ear after ENT removed hair from ear drum w/noyes forecps.Hurt bad jumped off table.Now he wants hearing aids?
Ear pain, jaw pain near ear, ear ringing, ear clogged/cant hear, feels like water in ear, general congestion/dark mucus. Any ideas/recs? Thx!
Bad ear pain. Nurse cleaned out wax. Doc said fluid behind drum and inf ear canal. How? I'm not sick. Ideas?
Outer ear infection: With otitis externa, you don't always feel 'sick'. You will, however, have wicked ear pain. The wax plug can trap moisture and set up the infection/inflammation. If there is fluid behind the ear drum, that's a middle ear infection and may also be without symptoms. Ear dermatitis /numb: Is it just dermatitis (eczema) or psoriasis? and though not the usual rash make sure with numbness it is not lyme disease. Prior ear infections: Glued/retracted eardrum? One side? Did you have history of multiple ear infections when you were a baby? Nasal steroid spray can help with allergies symptoms including runny nose or nasal congestion. I am uncertain whether it can help with retracted eardrum. See an ENT doctor: Ear pain and fullness can be due to tmd (temporo-mandibular disorder). Retraction of drum may indicate eustachian tube obstruction, but that requires a specialist's observation. See your doctor.: Doctors can help by providing adequate treatment, usually antibiotics if there is an infection. If it's multiple infections you might get referral for ENT specialist. Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen are adequate OTCs for pain control. If not feeling better, see doc to get stronger pain controlling medications and further curative treatment. Otitis externa?: Unless your eardrums have been perforated, there should not be blood in the earwax . The presence of blood suggests that you have been sticking something into the ear canal and the trauma is causing the bleeding. Alternatively, water might have got into your ear causing an infection. Ear Candling: Greetings. The contact with the ear candle has probably caused the reaction. Do yourself a favor and stop wasting money on candling of the ears. There is no scientific base behind this treatment. The wax you see after is in the ear candle itself. There have been documented ear trauma events from a burn to the skin from candling.
