Ginkgo biloba can have similar affects. Be sure and check with your surgeon, they probably have a list of what to avoid. Good luck. ...Read more

A psychiatrist can: answer this based on your family medical history and your medical history: allergies, what meds have worked in the past. They can prescribe a number of meds like Klonopin, Xanax, Prozac, Paxil, (paroxetine) Celexa, Zoloft, and Lexapro. You need to ask a health food store about OTC meds for anxiety. I am unsure of that. ...Read more
You are correct: Thankfully, most of them are placebos or have relatively mild biologic effects. A couple of the botanicals are extremely dangerous and only politics-as-usual keeps them legal in the usa. Some are quite helpful -- just tonight, i've recommended asking a personal physician about yohimbine. And vegetarians do need to supplement or they get multiple deficiencies -- otherwise the lifestyle's great. ...Read more

What form of medication or supplement gets absorbed fastest? I was thinking maybe chewable tablets or liquid gel capsules.
