How can e cig affect our health?

How can e cig affect our health?

Not completely known: It is likely that, when push comes to shove, ecigs will be 'safer' than smoking tobacco in any form, but that doesn't mean it is safe. You still get dependent on nicotine, it still may have effects on your heart, but likely fewer effects in terms of bronchitis/emphysema and cancer. However, the effects of the oils, flavors and additives are completely unknown at this point;many smoke with ecigs. ...Read more

What is the difference between an e-cig and a shisha pen?

What is the difference between an e-cig and a shisha pen?

Mainly cosmetic: most e-cigarettes have been made to look like a cigarette, whereas "shisha pens," hookahs and other devices are often larger and don't look anything like a cigarette. However, how they work (volatalizing either a liquid form of drug like nicotine or even volatiilzing the nicotine out of tobacco or the THC/CBD out of marijuana) is the same technology in either an e-cig or another device. ...Read more

Which e-cig should I get? Are any of them healthier than the others?

No: there are no data to support any one of them being any better than the other, because they are not required to report any studies that they have done on their products. While most tobacco control experts believe that it is highly likely that e-cigs are safer than combusted cigarettes, because of the reduced "tar" products in the smoke, we cannot say it is "safe."It's effects long-term are unknown. ...Read more

Blu electronic cigarette bad for health?

Blu electronic cigarette bad for health?

Yes: the question isn't whether they are harmful - nicotine is addictive, causes blood vessels to constrict and reduces blood flow to heart, brain and vital organs, and is what causes the vascular problems related to smoking. There are less "tars, " but nobody knows what the propellant (propylene glycol), flavorings, preservatives and other additives do, either short-term or long-term at this point. ...Read more

Can I have some tips on buying a e-cig vaporizor?

Can I have some tips on buying a e-cig vaporizor?

Not from me: I have not decided yet that using e-cigs is really a "harm reduction" method I should embrace, and help my patients choose ones that have been proven to best do that. However, the companies have not published studies of any of their products, and can't be required to, per the supreme court. A product that allows you to dial back the nicotine to reduce use, or those without nicotine might be best. ...Read more

Electronic cigarette charger getting really hot, what to do?

You need to ask: a mechanic or electrician, not a doctor. If anything is getting really hot, it would seem to me that it is malfunctioning and I would stop using it. Check with the place you bought it or with the manufacturer. ...Read more

My ce4 electronic cigarette won't work..Any other alternatives?

Unfortunately many: And they all involve smoking tobacco in some form. Obviously, you can buy another one. Or you can decide to not remain addicted to nicotine and do something about it. Smoking cessation programs help a lot, there are a variety of medications, including tapering doses of nicotine replacement therapy. Some people are actually able to do it with e-cigs, esp the ones that allow "dialing down" nicotine. ...Read more

I started using e-cig, are electric cigarette a healthier option?

I started using e-cig, are electric cigarette a healthier option?

Nobody knows: There are few studies of ecigs, and they still produce addiction to nicotine. E-cigs do have less tars, which are the complex hydrocarbons in the smoke. These cause a lott of the damage. It is likely that e-cigs will prove safer than smoked cigarettes, but nobody really knows. The propellant in these gadgets is propylene glycol, and nobody knows what inhaling them, or the oils, will do. ...Read more
