I've been using dutasteride 5mths, I have developed trichomegaly (lots of new rows of very long eyelashes). If I stop using it, it will reverse it?
If physician agrees: Stopping Avodart (dutasteride) will not lead to any serious problems although the therapeutic benefit on your prostate will be lost. The trial off the medicine to see if it helps with sexual dysfunction is not unreasonable. I suspect, however, that you need to have a testosterone level checked before assuming Avodart (dutasteride) is the sole cause of your problem ...Read more
DHT and others:
Finasteride/Dutasteride are important for controlling the size of the prostate gland.
I presume DHT means dihydrotestosterone - if so there is no reason to lower it but no harm will happen for a while if enlarged prostate is present and you take the two other drugs and stop DHT for a while.
These findings are very unusual for a 38 year old man.

Is it true that proscar and avodart (dutasteride) may prevent some prostate cancers but can actually cause aggressive prostate cancers?
Uncertain: There is some data suggesting that the cancers in patients on these drugs were higher grade. However, since the rates of adverse outcomes were not significantly higher in those patients, it raises the possibility that these results might be skewed. One possibility is that reduction in the size of the prostate makes it easier to find these cancers even though they may not be caused by the treatment. ...Read more
