Direct composite bonding vs indirect composite bonding? Is indirect composite bonding more like a veneer placed over the tooth?

Not really: Most laboratory made veneers are made of porcelain like substances not composites. They are usually stronger than compsite and resist staining more. I use direct composites mostly for smaller cases or when the patien is not sure of what thry are trying to achieve cosmetically because they are easier to adjust shade and shape after. Which crown is better for molar after rct? Steel, ceramic or steel fused porcelain? Asthetically as well as durebility wise?

Which crown is better for molar after rct? Steel, ceramic or steel fused porcelain? Asthetically as well as durebility wise?

No steel: Crowns are made from precious metals and/or porcelain, so steel is out of the question. An all metal crown is not the most esthetic, but you will never have porcelain breaking off of it. A well fitting pfm or full porcelain crown should also last a long time. The choice is yours, and your bite and size of tooth also play a role. Discuss with your dentist. ...Read more

Should I choose a metal or composite resin filling?

Should I choose a metal or composite resin filling?

Your priorities?: Cost and longevity favor amalgam. If esthetics are your thing , then composites. The size of the cavity can also influence your decision. There are also porcelain fillings. Don't be afraid to talk to your dentist. ...Read more

Which could very well be the longer lasting dental cap for back teeth--cerec, porcelin fused to high noble metal or a gold crown?

Two issues here: There are two factors to consider when answering this question: 1-Strength of crown: a gold crown cannot break; any one with a ceramic surface can break although very small percentage. 2- Any tooth with a crown can decay around margins if poor oral hygiene or high sugar or acid intake. Each type of crown has advantages and disadvantages. Speak to your own dentist as to which is best for you. ...Read more

Most people are not comfortable in them later in pregnancy, but they can't cause any real harm to moms or babies. If you are comfortable in them, go ahead and wear whatever you like. Comfort and fit are the most important features. ...Read more
