Probably muscle pain: If you have had the pain for a few months, it should be looked at by a doctor. It probably is muscular and depending on your physical activity and the extent of pain, it can be evaluated and treated as indicated. ...Read more

I have a dull pain upper left chest. Hurts when inhaling and when I press the area. No heart attack "signs", should I be worried?

Not much: We called this a "reproducible" pain, because you can feel it when you press your rib cage. Most likely not your heart and instead, the muscles or cartilages of the chest. See attention: At 4o, you are at risk just because of being male. I would at least advice you to go to your pcp and have an egd. And if you smoke, or are diabetic, you may need an echo and or a stress test. If you have a strong family history i.e. Dad in 40's or mom in 50's with heart problems than your risk is high. Also have lipids checked when you go. Better safe than sorry. ...Read more

Probably not: More likely your symptoms are GI or musculoskeletal in nature, if going by the odds. Why? Because of the description of your symptoms, your young age, and your gender.
