How long?: Ethmoid or sphenoidal sinus infection could be causing your symptoms, especially if they are new symptoms or you have allergies. Persistent symptoms can be chronic sinusitis or something more ominous involving pressure on the brain. You need an initial exam by your doc including an eye exam.

Dull ache pain behind eyes. Sometimes near temples...Possible causes?

Dull ache pain behind eyes. Sometimes near temples...Possible causes?

Decongestant: Most pain in or around an eye is from sinusitis or headache. Pain reliever and decongestant should relieve it. If not, or if it is getting worse, go see your doctor. It could also be due to an eye problem such an inflammation in (called uveitis) or around the eye. You need to see an eye doctor to really rule this out.

Dull Pain and pressure behind/above left eye that comes and goes where socket and eye meet. It is sore to the touch. My vision is fine. Causes?

Eye pain: The sensation you are describing can come from sinusitis, migraines, even some lymphomas. If it is something that persists you need to see your doctor for a possible scan of the area to determine the cause. Feel better soon

Brain fog for the past couple of weeks coupled with dull ache behind both eyes. Stiff neck also. My Lexapro (escitalopram) dose loosing effectiveness? A migraine?

Brain fog for the past couple of weeks coupled with dull ache behind both eyes. Stiff neck also. My Lexapro (escitalopram) dose loosing effectiveness? A migraine?

Not a migraine: Could be a cervicogenic headache which is from neck muscles in spasm. You could try a massage of the area or a hot shower playing the spray over the neck area while stretching out the neck muscles. Moist heat or ice packs over the sore neck areas could actually make your head feel better. The brain fog could be a neurological issue. Good luck.

My eyes get sore if I do not push on them to release the pressure behind them it makes a squeaking noise when I do?

My eyes get sore if I do not push on them to release the pressure behind them it makes a squeaking noise when I do?

Interesting: Well this is a first for me, and therefore is have to guess a bit. You may feel better just by the forced closure and rubbing action delivered to your eye through the eyelids. The pressure may stimulate some tearing, real lease of oil and mucous secretions thereby making your eyes more comfortable. I advise doing something different. Use warm compress to closed eyes, artificial tears. Better 4 eye

Eye pain: Eye pains with headaches can be due to cluster headaches, which can occur for a few days at a time, often at night. See your doctor for evaluation and treatment to rule out dangerous causes.

Back pain: Assuming you are talking about back pain, middle and left, and you are talking about headache, or pain in the head above the eye and behind it. They are two separate issues not related. Back pain, could be posture, spasm from bad lift, or kidney stone. Apply heat pad, take ibuprofen, and stretch your back, and hydrate well. Pain in the head could be sinus headache, or eye problem, have your eye examined.

Tension vs Migraine: I need more data but this might be a migraine. I would be suspect of a migraine if you have family history of migraines, headaches are cyclical, they last a 6-48 hours, you have nausea and vomiting. They get better if you are in a dark room without a lot of noise. Or this is just a simple tension headache which occurs maybe 1-2 times a month? Try Tylenol (acetaminophen) if not better or cyclical see doctor.

Positional headache: Headaches with a positional component it is always a red flag and need to be evaluated to exclude a lesion in the posterior fossa or a condition with low CSF pressure. Rec.: see an orofacial pain or headache specialist for further investigation and management.

Best to See MD: Headaches can cause different symptoms in different people. Be sure to see your MD to get a neurologic exam if headaches are new, wake you from sleep or only on 1 side. See Eyedoc2020@blogspot. Com "Headache Diet" for possible solutions to help.

I often get an ache or stabbing type pain behind my right eye but the ophthalmologist says there's nothing wrong. What could cause this?

Retro orbit pain: These are difficult to diagnose. In a normal ophthalmogic exam, pain behind the eye may be referred or from an orbital disease process. Sinusitis, neck pain, bruxism, ear pain, upper molar pain, and many others that are facial pain disorders that may arise from neurological conditions like migraine, tic doulereaux. A consult with a neurologist may be helpful if this problem is persisting.

Cannot diagnose: But would suggest you see your pcp and take with you a list of each and every symptom you can remember and the temporal sequence in which they occurred. You may be directed to see an ophthalmologist or neurologist or both to work this out. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.
