Dry Socket No Pain
Have a foul smell at tooth extraction area after 5 days. No severe pain, maybe minor discomfort that ibuprofen helps. Possible dry socket?
2yrs wisdom tooth pain, removed 4wks ago, still in extreme pain, x-ray normal no infection, little dry socket not over gum, still in this much pain?
Unlikely: inhaled steroids might cause fungal pharyngitis in general, that's why it is advisable to gargle or drink water after using them, the same applies after tooth extraction, wash your mouth after usage, bronchodilator inhalers aren't known to cause infection , wash your mouth anyways after using either type if you're concerned ...Read more
When are you in the clear for developing dry socket? 6 days out from extraction. Mild throbbing. Gums sore. Whitish color in socket.
Talk to your doctor: it is very hard to second guess. But what ever your problems are do not sound like out of normal zone. Best way to rule out will be to see oral surgeon and make sure. Good luck ...Read more

Bone graft?: Usually we don't put bone graft unless there is no infection in the area. Bone graft can delay healing for 28 days if there is any complicaton in bone graft. All pain should be subsided after 1 to 2 weeks. Are you on any bisphosphonates (osteoporosis meds)? Don't have fever, swelling, redness. But gums sore, teeth tender, often dry. Pressure in facial bones/headache. Fatigue. Start with? Saw dds.
Dry mouth: There are many hopeful treatments for your predicament . They may be symptoms from more than one problem, but decreased salivary output(dry mouth) can cause redness of gum tissue and hypersensitivity of the teeth. Try a sugarless gum and sugarless hard candies, preferably containing xylitol may help to decrease the sensivity. Also, sensodyne toothpaste used 4 times a day will help.
