I had dry socket and it was treated. This is the 2nd day without gauze and no pain just littleache. Is it supposed to be achy while it stills heals?

Post extraction: BD taste can be part of the healing process especially if there was an infection. It is too so for Sinful dry socket. Why are you still using gauze in your mouth. Really?: Sometimes we get what we are looking for. How long ago was the tooth extracted? An hour of gauze with light pressure isn't enough to determine a problem. Yes: The brown stuff is a special 'paste' with things like eugenol in it to deaden the pain. The medicine should be down in the socket, and the gauze was just to keep it in place and prevent it from being washed out.
