Doctor insights on:
Dry Skin Vaginal Area
I keep getting cuts on my vagina and I also have extremely dry skin around my vaginal area that peels straight off? What could be the cause of this?
Many things: I would see a physician regarding this as it could be a variety of things. A picture, in this case, is worth a 1000 words, and without a photo, it could be many things, dermatitis, eczema, yeast, lichen simplex, lichen sclerosis, psoriasis. Sometimes they need to take a biopsy to be certain, so be prepared for that. Good luck!
rash/dry skin, itchy around vaginal area-assume from chaffing, . Working in malaysia so it is very hot and always in the sea. What cream should I use?
Itchy vulva: My advice is to avoid tight clothing, wear white cotton panties and obtain a cream like mycolog which contains an antifungal, antiyeast medication combined with a cortisone type medication which relieves irritation and itching. Hopefully you won't have to visit a gynecologist.See 1 more doctor answer
STD?: A photo is worth a thousand words when it comes to diagnosing skin disorders. Dry patches usually signify eczema in other parts of body but can be assc with yeast in vaginal area. Open sores could be an std like herpes, syphilis, chancre. But could also be a yeast infection that she scratched at. Best is to go to dr and get checked!
What causes my already dry skin to get worse or even scaly all over my body during and directly after having vaginal intercourse with my girlfriend?
Allergy: You may be allergic to something in secretions etc
I am experiencing vaginal dryness around the lips of my vagina. I'm in no pain, and there's no discharge, but there is some dry skin that peels off.?
Obgyn evaluation: Consider seeing an Obgyn. They can examine the area and then order any testing that might be useful in determining the cause. Once a cause is determined then a treatment can be given.
I have a patch of what looks like dry skin but slightly raised at the bottom of the labia, vry close to vaginal opening. It's not sore but spreading?
I am experiencing vaginal tenderness. The following also describes me: Skin redness or irritation, pain while wiping only, and dry skin on labia.?
Vaginal irritation: Sounds like you have some sort of vaginal infection. Do you have any discharge? You can try using an over the counter antifungal vaginal cream to see if that helps but your best bet would be to go to your doc and get an exam. Prescription pills usually work better because applying anything to an already irritated vaginal area can be really uncomfortable.
Hi I'm still breastfeeding my 20 month old does that affect my estrogen levels that might cause vaginal irritation and also dry skin on other breast?
Dry skin on vaginal lips. It burns sometimes. Itchy clitorus and inside vagina opening. Recently tested for any std couple months ago. Negative.
May be yeast: The only way to know what this is is to be examined by your doctor. It may be a yeast infection. If an over the counter yeast medication solves the problem then most likely that's all it was. Other possibilities include lichen sclerosis, lichen simplex chronicus, allergic reactions and psoriasis. Schedule a visit.
Lubrication: I would never encourage you to not use a form of birth control, so continue to use the condoms, but consider lubrication called astroglide. Also, there is another type of longer acting lubrication called replens that you could apply after intercourse or intermittently. Also, try different brands to see how that helps.
I have super extremely dry skin and it appears in patches in some areas and also affects my lips, what's the problem?
Do they itch?: If these areas are red and itchy you may have eczema which gets worse in the winter. The less you shower the better, only use soap in your private parts and apply a cream or ointment moisturizer. If this does not help see a dermatologist.
I am 29 years old (female) I have a mixed to dry skin. What skincare products should work for me especially to mya facial and neck area?
Healthy skin: Avoid things that make you break out, soaps & wetness. Wash your hands only when necessary. Wear gloves when needed. Wear clothes made of cotton. Bathe only with a small amount of mild unscented soap, such as dove. Keep the water temperature cool or warm, not hot! Use the medicine your doctor gave you. Use a plain moisturizer daily. Avoid scratching or rubbing the itchy area. Manage stress.See 1 more doctor answer
Dry skin in the winter that is in the area behind my knees. I keep putting lotion but it's not going away?
Hello! I have Dry Skin Should I use moisturizer on the areas of the skin which is affected. Or all over the body? Also Do you rub it in or dab it?
All over: You never know which part of the skin will dry up next. Using the cream all over the body should prevent dryness, & should be safe as long as the cream is hypoallergenic, and well-reputed brand. Avoid creams with excess perfumes, colorings, bleaches, "whiteners" or other additives. These can dry out skin & cause more problems in the future. Good luck.
