Eczema: Eczema or contact dermatitis. If the spots are where some article of clothing rubs then that could be the cause. If not, then use Hydrocortisone 1% cream three times a day on the dry spots as needed. Fungal cream: If this is really 'fungal' - it should respond to an anti-fungal cream. Something like clotrimazole 1% twice a day for a week would be worth trying. Fungus in the groin region LOVES moisture - so try keeping it as dry as possible. Baby powder, a fan, wearing a towel - those are things that might help.
