Dry skin around lips. Also dry fingers. What are best OTC products for lips, for skin? Or, what ingredients should I look for?
Dry Skin: Moisturizers provide a seal over your skin to keep water from escaping. Thicker moisturizers work best, such as over-the-counter brands eucerin and cetaphil. Aveeno (oatmeal) lip conditioner essential moisture spf 15 and blistex lip infusion spf 15 for dry lips. Don't lick your lips and try to moisturize your hands right after a shower. ...Read more
The tips of my fingers are peeling but I haven't been using harsh chemicals or been sick recently. Doesn't seem like dry skin. Causes?
See MD: See your dermatologist or urgent care physician. Sometimes contact dermatitis involved with contact with allergens such as nickel can cause peeling skin, as can hand eczema, vitamin deficiencies, and other skin conditions. Washing your hands and immediately applying emollient creams such as Eucerin should help but if there is itching and redness you may need a steroid cream and or taper. Good luck ...Read more
How long do sperms live on dry skin such as hands, fingers and thights? .and If they are dry and one touch them can the sperms be transfered? Thanks
It is possible to become pregnant if live sperm are transferred from outside the body to inside, however that likelihood diminishes with time as the ejaculate dries out. Sperm typically live outside the body as long as the ejaculate has not dried out and they still have energy to attempt to fertilize an egg. The answer is, this varies.
They can live inside the female genital tract for a few days ...Read more

For the last week I have been experiencing: fatigue, mussle stiffness, dry skin around nose, month, eyes, between fingers. Should I worry?
Fatigue: If you're still alive, I don't think there is anything to worry about. Not seeing you or knowing anything about your lifestyle, environment makes it difficult to give you a proper opinion. Monitor yourself for the next couple of months and see if your symptoms get better or worse. If worse, seeing your GP wouldn't hurt. ...Read more

I have red itch bumps all over my body the ER doctor said it was dry skin but still hasn't went away and I got bumps that puss between my fingers?
Eczema: It sounds like dyshydrotic eczema. It is typically treated with steroid cream when inflamed. Preventative measures are best. Wash hands less frequently in luke warm water. Use moisturizer on areas that break out daily. Blot dry after shower. Try to find a link or something that might be causing it. For example: change in soap, exposing yourself to a new chemical etc. ...Read more
I got very dry skin under my eyes and upper lids too. Also same problem between some of hand fingers. I'm 21, male. I'm taking fish oil and multivitamins.
Eczema?: Dry skin around eyes & hands can be eczema. Any chemical irritants such as shampoos, cleansers, cosmetics/make-up could contribute. Allergies could be a factor, as could chronic inflammation from blepharitis. A dermatologist or ophthalmologist can help. Special lubricants (gels/creams) made for sensitive eyelids or washing with baby shampoo may also help. Good luck! ...Read more

Thyroid "normal": As you obviously know all your symptoms fit into hypothyroidism. What you may not know is that the so called normal range thyroid levels is rather broad. Irritation: I doubt this is infectious or anything actually rotting, although I enjoy the term. It may be an allergy to something you are coming into contact with or more likely just irritation and friction from the work you do. Common in many occupations where hands are used in repetitive movements from friction causing thick, cracked skin. Try aquaphor or cetaphil hand cream with cotton gloves 2x daily. ...Read more

Is dry skin a possible route for HIV transmission from infected blood on a object to dry skin on a persons hand?
Only if a cut: In general, contact via skin with HIV+ blood or fluids is relatively lower risk if the skin is intact, whether dry or not. However, as dry skin has the possibility of having more microscopic wounds than other healthier skin, the HIV could have an easier portal of entry. If you are worried you contracted HIV you should go to your doctor for testing and post-exposure medications immediately. ...Read more
