Dry Skin On Forearms
My bf has dry skin around his neck & near forearm & bicep. Eczema? It looks dry & scaly. No discoloration. What could he use to help treat it/go away?
I have tiny flesh colored rashes on my forearms. They look like goosebumps. Also dry circular patches of dry skin. What could it be?
Doctor can examine: Rashes are hard to describe in words. Usually, a doctor has to look at a rash to see what it might be. For common rashes such as eczema, mild reactions to plants or chemicals, excessive dryness, or little itchy bumps, over-the-counter hydrocortisone 1% cream usually helps. Itchy bumps on many body parts might be an allergic reaction to something or from other causes.
Small red bumps on forearms that don't itch mainly come out after shower/bath then 20 min later are gone? I've had them for 2 months. Very dry skin to
Not Sure: When you have bumps that come and go quickly, it is unlikely that it is a harmful condition. Some possibilities include a contact or irritant dermatitis, and hives. There are rare instances where people are allergic or get rashes to water. As for the dry skin, I like for my patients to apply creams or moisturizers within 5 minutes of bath or shower- cerave & cetaphil are good starting points.

I'm hispanic and recently got two dark spots on my arm thought it was from a bug bite but now they are getting dry skin in them I'm worried what it is?
Discoloration: Can occur from minor injury and form previous inflammation. Usually resloves in time.
There is a patch of skin on my fore arm that is very tiny bumps, not red, not itchy. I had shingles last year and it is on the same arm. Dry skin? Or?
Skin lesions: May just be dry skin (try moisturizing cream several times a day; avoid very hot baths/showers & harsh soaps). Might be sun damage from too much exposure; see doc for evaluation; actinic keratoses are easily treated via many methods. Use sunscreen when outdoors, even on cloudy days. If blisters form, may be recurrence of shingles (not common) but best treated early.

Skin Tags: Skin tags are an outgrowth of normal skin and occur in ~25% of adults. Incidence increases with age. Skin tags usually occur in areas where there is increased friction (armpits, neck, groin/inner thigh regions). Treatment with excision of lesions with scissors. Larger lesions may require suturing. Can also try cryosurgery with liquid nitrogen or electrodesiccation.See 1 more doctor answer

Can hypothyroidism lead to bruising easily and dry skin and dry scabs that won't heal I have 2 small ones on arm my mom & aunt have hypothyroidism?
Yes, for dry skin: Untreated hypothyroidism can certainly cause dry skin, but it would be unlikely to cause bruising or scabs. I see that you are on advil, (ibuprofen) this can contribute to bruising. Considering your family history, it would be reasonable to get a free T4 and TSH level done to look at your thyroid function.
Many Tricks: Proper bathing routine (short 5 min shower, luke warm), immediately moisturize with a thick cream (no lotions) within 3 min after exiting the shower. Reapply moisturizer at one other time during the day to trouble areas. Also using a oil-based shower wash (like eucerin calming body wash, robathol, or neutrogena rain bath) can give some oil back to your skin in the shower. This should help a lot.See 1 more doctor answer
