I have tiny flesh colored rashes on my forearms. They look like goosebumps. Also dry circular patches of dry skin. What could it be?

Doctor can examine: Rashes are hard to describe in words. Usually, a doctor has to look at a rash to see what it might be. For common rashes such as eczema, mild reactions to plants or chemicals, excessive dryness, or little itchy bumps, over-the-counter hydrocortisone 1% cream usually helps. Itchy bumps on many body parts might be an allergic reaction to something or from other causes. Read more

Why do I have dry skin, weird rashes, tiredness and stress?

Rule out low thryoid: You should see a doctor to have your thyroid checked and find out what the rash is. If s/he thinks you are depressed or nervous, s/he may treat you or refer you to a psychologist or psychiatrist depending on the severity of the situation. Most psych conditions, even if brought on by a physical problem, respond best to a combination of therapy and medications, especially medications if severe. Read more

I'm having dry skin, rashes, I now have head lice could they be related?

I'm having dry skin, rashes, I now have head lice could they be related?

No: Head lice are actually more dependent on the shape and nature of the hair shaft, not of the condition of your scalp. They like to attach to fine, thin hairs. You also need to be exposed to get head lice - they don't just happen because of any skin conditions. However, once your scalp is infested, irritation from them biting the scalp can certainly lead to intense itching and scalp irritation. Read more

Insane itchy heel in early mornings, wakes me up every night. Won't let me sleep anymore. No visible rashes. No dry skin. What is it what do I do?

Hormonal control.: Night time itching is commonly treated with anti fungal and steroid creams, and if it works, great. Too often though, there are no outward appearances of skin disruption, dryness or infestation. In those cases, the topical treatments are useless. It is thought that perhaps, the effect of what is known as the circadian rhythm, may be the underlying cause. You need to see a competent specialist. Read more

I have a small red patch of dry skin below one eye. I have never had dry skin or rashes on my face; should I have this checked out or wait for a bit?

Probably ok to wait: This may be an area of dry skin or an area of irritation from soap or cleaning. It should be safe to wait to see if it resolves. If not, or if it worsens, then get it checked. Read more

What does it mean if you have low segmented neutrophils (35.5%) and high lymphocytes (54.9%)? I have dry skin, usually with rashes and also headache

Nothing by itself: Absolute counts on CBC's are what matters. Some folks simply run low neutrophils from time to time or for a lifetime, and lab reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthies fall outside on either end. This won't explain your skin troubles or headaches. Your physician's your best guide here. Best wishes. Read more
